Power on your Smart Controller and connect your Smart Controller to your computer or tablet using a USB to Micro USB cord

3. After the file is finished downloading, YOU MUST extract the file. You will have two options to choose, Linux or Windows. Choose the appropriate OS you are downloading on. In this case select Windows.

Download the latest version of Wispr Ground Control from this location.
Extract the contents of the downloaded zipped file. Note: It is essential that the file is fully extracted before proceeding.
Ensure that all other applications using a communication port on your device are closed.
Open the Windows folder from the extracted file.
Review the Wispr Terms and Conditions carefully before continuing.
After reviewing the terms and conditions, navigate to the Windows folder by double-clicking it. Once inside, locate and select "windows_update" to execute the update script.
These pop-ups could possibly come up. If so select More Info and then Run Anyway.
Accept the terms and conditions by entering “Y”.
If updated correctly, you will see the following screen (Below) and the updated version of Wispr Ground Control will now be available on your hand controller.
If the script does not run automatically, please check the controller screen to verify if it is prompting for permission to execute on the computer. For first-time execution on a new machine, the system will always request permission. By selecting "Always Allow" and checking the "Do not ask again" option, the installation process should begin, and future permission prompts on that machine will be bypassed.
Once you see “Successfully updated application!”, press any key to exit. You now have the latest version of WISPR Ground Control!
How to Update on a Linux PC
Power on your Smart Controller and connect your Smart Controller to your computer or tablet using a USB to Micro USB cord.
Download the latest version of Wispr Ground Control from this location.
Extract the folder from the zipped file. YOU MUST extract the file.
Before proceeding, ensure that you close any other applications currently using a communication port on your device.
Open a terminal at
path/to/update/folder/vX.Y.ZZ/Linux.Run the command
./linux_update.sh.

Wispr Ground Control should be on the home page of your Smart Controller. If for some reason it is not you can simply go to settings and hold your finger on the app. Select Add to Favorites to add the app to the home screen. |

Issue: Script returns “adb is not recognized as an internal or external command” |

Be sure you are updating from the extracted file every time and not the zipped folder.
Check the icon of the folder path does not have a zipper on it as shows below

If the file does show it is zipped you can simply extract it by right clicking and selecting the extract all option.

If you get this message inside the Command Prompt, check your USB controller is connected correctly from the computer to the Smart Controller.

If you have confirmed the USB cord is connected correctly and you still get the message above, check to make sure you have USB debugging turned on on your Smart Controller or you will not be able to run the update.
To ensure this, go to settings and select developer options.
Inside of developer options, locate USB debugging and turn it on by using the slider. It will be lit up green once it is activated.
After enabling USB debugging, you can now run the update and update WisprGroundControl.

Solution: This error is usually because the files have not been extracted. Extract the files from the zip folder, then open the new location. |

Issue: Script stuck on “Waiting for connection to hand controller… Please check your hand controller to ensure that you have enabled USB debugging from this device Solution: The first time running the script from a new computer, there will be a prompt to accept the incoming connection on your hand controller. Select “Accept”. If the script still does not work or you do not see this prompt, try a different microUSB cable. |

Issue: The app crashes the first time I try to open it. Solution: Re-Open the app and run normally. It will ask you to “allow” on a few pop ups. The first time doing the allow pop ups, the app may crash. If the app crashes, re-open and press any more allow pop ups and the app should run normally. If for some reason it does continue to crash, delete the app and repeat the steps beginning at step 1 to install the app. |
