When flying out over vast oceans or other large bodies of water the downward facing range finder used in auto-land can be thrown off and try to auto-land in water due to the highly reflective surface of water. In that case downward facing range finder and auto-land must be disabled. This guide instructs on how to do this.
With drone powered open WISPR Ground Control and open the settings
...
After opening settings go to the safety settings
...
Scroll down until you see Auto-land and uncheck “Enable auto-land”. Reboot your drone and from this point the drone will not have auto-land enabled.

You do not have to disable the laser range finder its, but flight controller will use baro and GPS as priority and laser range finder is secondary in landing state. The laser range finder is only used at altitudes lower than 50m so if data is bad due to highly reflective surface it is best practice to disable downward facing range finder as well so altitude is as accurate as possible. To do this simply uncheck “Enable downward-facing rangefinder” and it will be turned off. Reboot drone after making this change.
